Background

In 2015, Stallergenes, an allergy immunotherapy leader in France, merged with US-based Greer Laboratories to form a unified presence across 75 countries. Stallergenes Greer’s purpose was simply expressed—to enable people with allergies to live normal lives. But accommodating business processes to support the new enterprise aspirations proved more difficult.

Business challenge

Stallergenes Greer (USA) was running JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.0 in an AS400 environment at the time of the merger. While a JDE upgrade was undoubtedly inevitable, it didn’t make the shortlist. The company’s IT department was too inundated with business requests. One year post-merger, Stallergenes Greer reported 40 percent growth and significant gains in market share. Shareholders celebrated, yet the internal IT team struggled even more to keep pace. Overwhelmed, they turned to ERP Suites application managed services (AMS) team for relief.

Bolstered with an onsite ERP Suites AMS consultant, the IT team finally began making headway. Nevertheless, their new application managed services partner knew that progress was not sustainable long-term. Stallergenes Greer needed a plan to manage technology demands more efficiently.

Merging time and talent with expectations

To position Stallergenes Greer’s IT team for lasting success, ERP Suites’ application managed services consultants guided development of an issue escalation and release management process. They helped the team identify and prioritize incidents and enhancement requests. And they shared AMS best practices for rollout. With plans and processes in place, Stallergenes Greer could maximize the time and talent of their internal IT team and meet the changing needs of business.

Efficiency on the rise, Stallergenes Greer’s IT team is a better reflection of the integrated global pharmaceutical leader today. They look forward to JD Edwards 9.0 implementation and tomorrow’s innovation with ongoing support from ERP Suites application managed services advisors.
