FAQs
To help you find answers quickly, our team has put together a list of frequently asked questions about this transition. More questions will be added weekly, so check back as needed.

I have a project in flight. Is this going to impact that project?
For customers with known projects on the books, we will make an effort to plan around those projects so that the impact is minimized or eliminated.
How long will my outage be?
Cutover outage times vary depending on your setup. If your disaster recovery equipment is located in Cincinnati, you will not experience any downtime. Customers hosted on virtual platforms may experience an outage lasting a few hours. Those with physical or colocation equipment may experience longer outages, which will depend on their specific environment.
How do we handle third-party apps?
Third party apps will be identified in the early stages of planning for individual customers. The specific characteristics, requirements, tasks and responsibilities will be identified through joint efforts of the customer and ERP Suites and included in the project plans as appropriate.
Who is managing the move of the individual customers?
We will develop a general plan for customers based on the technical footprint. SDMs will work with the customer and ERP Suites team to refine the plan to meet your specific requirements. SDMs will act as project managers for the individual customer's migration project.
Are we planning to move customers to Denver?
We are not planning to move customers to Denver as part of this project; however, if that helps with a customer's specific scenario, we can discuss it.
As a customer, what is my involvement?
Generally speaking, you will be involved in scoping, planning, and testing. You are expected to play a key role in integrations, third-party products, your in-house network, and any related matters concerning co-located equipment.
Will machine names change?
No. Machine names will remain unchanged.
Where is this new data center located?
Our newest data center is in Chaska, Minnesota. This is strategically located southwest of Minneapolis.
Will this require time for anyone on my team? How much staff time do I need?
You will need to be involved in various aspects of the planning and cutover portions of the move. The timing and quantity of that involvement will vary by customer, but will become clearer as ERP Suites engages with you in discussions and planning.
What are customer testing requirements?
You will need to test and validate the availability and functionality of the systems in preparation for cutover and as part of cutover.
Are DEV TST and PRD moving separately or together? (batches of servers)
All systems and environments for a given customer will move together. Moving systems separately will not be feasible.
Can we move to Denver for an extended period of time to put off moving to MSPDC1?
No. CINDC1 customers will move to MSPDC1. We will not be able to accommodate temporary moves to a different data center as part of the project.
Will end user logins be any different?
End-user logins will not change. Application addresses, user IDs, and passwords will all remain unchanged.
Is there a rollback plan? What is the rollback plan?
Rollback planning will be included in the migration project plans. Details will vary by customer.
How will this affect my performance? Will this negatively impact application response time?
We expect performance in the new data center to be as good or better than in the current data center. Newer, more performant equipment is being used to build out the new data center and we expect our customers to benefit. We understand that some customers may be more geographically distant from the new facility and that could result in a change in network latency. We already service customers of various distances from our current data centers with excellent performance and expect that we will continue to do so from the new facility.
Can you provide guidance on how to inform my circuit provider?
Absolutely! While we cannot directly manage the migration process with your telco carrier, we are here to guide and facilitate. As we move forward with each customer, your account representatives will be able to provide information and advice to support the needed changes with your carriers.
Will IP addresses change?
Your internal IP addresses that your systems are currently using are not expected to change. What will change, due to technical requirements, is external, or public, IP addresses. This is likely to require address changes to external connections (EDI, banks, etc.) and VPNs.
How will colocated equipment be handled?
As we engage with each customer, we will work together to make appropriate plans to address your customer-owned equipment.
How will customer-specific infrastructure requirements be handled?
We expect that for most customers, there will be little change to their infrastructure. The overall move is being planned to minimize changes to customer environments to create a consistent experience with minimal disruption. We recognize and take pride in the fact that we can be highly flexible with customer requirements, so there may be cases where there are specific considerations required. We will be proactively working with those customers to plan for any of those changes.
Can I visit the DC before I approve this?
Due to the timing, logistical, and security challenges inherent in coordinating visits at the scale of this project, we are unable to offer tours at this time. If you have specific concerns about the facility, please raise those with your account representatives, and we will be happy to address them. This facility is on par with our Denver facility and operated by the same partner. We have a solid history of trust, performance, security, and availability and expect the new data center to be no different.
How will latency issues be addressed?
We understand that some customers may be more geographically distant from the new facility, which could result in a change in network latency. We already service customers of various distances from our current data centers with excellent performance and expect that we will continue to do so from the new facility.
Will hardware in MSP be the same as in CIN?
We continue to rely on the same vendors that have helped us build and power our hosting operation for years. In most cases, we are deploying the latest generations of the Cincinnati equipment in the new Minneapolis facility.
Is my data safe while you move it?
Yes! We understand that your data is valuable and we treat it that way. We utilize secure back-end connectivity and encryption in flight to maintain the security of your data. Furthermore, all of our facilities fall under the same security and access policies to keep your data safe and secure.
It's closer to DEN than CIN, why did you pick it?
Many factors go into selecting a data center facility. With datacenter demand extremely high, top considerations are current and ongoing availability of space and power. Additionally, logistical, financial, connectivity, and readiness are all important considerations. Considering all the factors, we believe the MSP area and the Chaska data center maintain sufficient geographic separation and enable us to best serve our customers.
